Matthew Collins

Matthew Collins (academic) - Wikipedia

Matthew Collins is a professor of Paleoproteomics at the University of Copenhagen (Denmark) and the University of Cambridge (UK). Matthew studies protein stability in ancient specimens, using computer models, immunology and mass spectrometry to assess amino acid changes and predict molecular longevity in archaeological finds. Together with Michael Buckley (University of Manchester, UK) he developped Zooarchaeology by Mass Spectrometry (ZooMS).

Virginie Sinet-Mathiot is a Fyssen Foundation post-doctoral fellow at PACEA and Bordeaux Proteome, University of Bordeaux (France). Virginie applies paleoproteomics, including Zooarchaeology by Mass Spectrometry (ZooMS), to study collections of morphologically unidentifiable bones from the Pleistocene to reevaluate human behaviors regarding the processing of animal carcasses and prey selection, contrasting these results with traditional zooarchaeological studies.
